Assistant Accountant
Rotech is a technology-driven group of companies providing innovative products to the oil & gas, renewables, decommission and energy industries from our headquarters in Aberdeen. As part of our ongoing recruitment and staff development programme, we are looking to employ an Assistant Accountant.
The role will be based at Rotech House and will report to the Finance Director. Some travel may be required, and the company allows some home working, subject to the agreement of your line manager.
The role will include bookkeeping, management accounts preparation, cash flow management, banking and payroll.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Maintaining the accounting records.
- Ensuring sales invoicing is kept up to date.
- Ensuring rechargeable costs are invoiced.
- Chasing late payment of sales invoices.
- Monitoring receipt and review of purchase invoices.
- Monitoring bank balances.
- Making payments though online banking.
- Completing and submitting VAT returns.
Payroll
- Ensure payroll inputs are received on time and accurate.
- Run payroll and file HMRC RTI reports on time.
- Process payroll BACS file.
- Complete pension reports.
- Transfer PAYE to HMRC on time each month.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll queries.
General
- Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and are in line with legislation and best practice.
- Engage with Rotech strategy, assigned objectives/projects and interact with other team members and events.
- Maintain the Rotech ways of working standards through the Company's IMS.
- Nurture a positive working environment and culture.
- Act confidentially and with integrity.
- Perform any other delegated duties or tasks as reasonably instructed by your Line Manager or Company Director.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in a similar accounting role.
- Excellent IT and administration skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft packages and, in particular, with Microsoft Dynamics and Excel.
- Self-motivated, with ability to work on own and as part of a small team, being flexible in work approach, comfortable working with detail as well as independent decision making.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- Familiar with payroll legislation.
- People oriented and results driven.
- Ability to adapt to change and make suggestions for improvements.
- Accountability for dealing with confidential and highly sensitive information.
- Professional work ethic with high level of personal integrity.
- Ability to act with a sense of urgency to meet challenging deadlines and the changing demands of the company.

Graduate Engineer

- Review Offshore Reports

New Build of Equipment
- Preparing Engineering documentation, including manuals, procedures and documentation packs

Offshore Team Member
- Maintain offshore survival
- Offshore technician as required

Administrative Assistant

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaising across teams within the organisation
- Creating documentation packs for fabricated parts
- Preparing certification packs for offshore equipment supply
- Provide support to the operations and logistics teams by completing returns, inputting data into trackers, spreadsheets and the personnel database
- Assisting with general administration duties as required by the business
- Raising purchase orders and processing invoices
- Help to prepare Stores and Logistics paperwork
- Check quotes and raise purchase orders

Subsea Technicians

We are looking for enthusiastic, driven, individuals who are willing to learn and can work well both independently and within a team. The candidates should have a safety first attitude, a questioning mind and an ability to use initiative to meet and resolve challenges.
We are looking for candidates who can develop to become Backshift Supervisors and Team Leaders, so are looking for people with leadership qualities.
The following skills and experience will be helpful, but we are keen to have applications from anyone who is keen to operate mechanical equipment in an offshore environment and can demonstrate an ability to learn and succeed.
Key skills:
- Be a good communicator, with good time management and organisational skills.
- Have some experience in Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic systems.
- Be keen to learn about the company's range of equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing maintenance and repair of equipment.

Whilst offshore, ensuring that the equipment is maintained and operated as per the Offshore Supervisor's instructions and company procedures.
- Reporting to, and handing over to technicians at each shift change.
- Compliance with the Company Quality System.
- Potential involvement in the build of new Subsea equipment.

Compliance with all company and client Health and Safety policies and procedures, and reporting any safety observations to the Offshore Supervisor if required.
Training/Certification required:
- Full Offshore Certification and Medical will be required but will be funded by Rotech.
- Should be familiar with ISO 9001
