Plater

Rotech is a technology-driven group of companies providing innovative products to the oil & gas, renewables, decommission and energy industries from our headquarters in Aberdeen. As part of our ongoing recruitment and staff development programme, we are looking to employ a Plater.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, individual who is willing to learn and can work well both independently and within a team. The candidate should have a safety first attitude, a questioning mind and an ability to use initiative to meet and resolve challenges

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Measuring and marking out plates and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling
  • Operating plate cutting machines and edge preparation machines
  • Cutting slots in metal and drilling or punching holes
  • Oxyacetylene cutting, prepping and shaping of steel
  • Guiding cranes and hoists for moving and assembling plates
  • Tacking welding fabricated parts together
  • Able to work to fabrication tolerances of +/- 3mm

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Nat 5 Mathematics
  • Nat 4 English
  • 4 year Apprenticeship in Plating / Steel Fabrication / Structural Steel / Welding or NVQ Equivalent

Graduate Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, individual who is willing to learn and can work well both independently and within a team. The candidate should have a safety first attitude, a questioning mind and an ability to use initiative to meet and resolve challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Subsea Operations Support

  • Subsea Equipment Maintenance
  • Review Offshore Reports
  • Support workshop with equipment maintenance
  • Technical support to Subsea Operations
  • Review/maintain Certification and help with mobilisation paperwork
  • Order spares as required
  • Health and safety reviews as required

New Build of Equipment

  • Preparing Engineering documentation, including manuals, procedures and documentation packs
  • 3D cad modelling and production drawings
  • Modification/updates to drawings
  • Design where required
  • Ordering material and creating document packs
  • Health and Safety reviews

Offshore Team Member

  • Maintain offshore survival
  • Offshore technician as required

Health and Safety

  • Write risk assessments where required
  • Carry out tool box talks for equipment maintenance/builds as required

KEY SKILLS:

  • Safety first mentality
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Motivated, self-starter with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD Inventor is an advantage
  • Ability to efficiently read, understand and select relevant information from large documents and technical drawings

Subsea Technicians

Rotech is a technology-driven group of companies providing innovative products to the oil & gas, renewables, decommission and energy industries from our headquarters in Aberdeen. As part of our ongoing recruitment and staff development programme, we are looking to employ Subsea Technicians.

We are looking for enthusiastic, driven, individuals who are willing to learn and can work well both independently and within a team. The candidates should have a safety first attitude, a questioning mind and an ability to use initiative to meet and resolve challenges.

We are looking for candidates who can develop to become Backshift Supervisors and Team Leaders, so are looking for people with leadership qualities.

The following skills and experience will be helpful, but we are keen to have applications from anyone who is keen to operate mechanical equipment in an offshore environment and can demonstrate an ability to learn and succeed.

Key skills:

  • Be a good communicator, with good time management and organisational skills.
  • Have some experience in Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic systems.
  • Be keen to learn about the company's range of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Whilst offshore, ensuring that the equipment is maintained and operated as per the Offshore Supervisor's instructions and company procedures.
  • Reporting to, and handing over to technicians at each shift change.
  • Compliance with the Company Quality System.
  • Potential involvement in the build of new Subsea equipment.
  • Compliance with all company and client Health and Safety policies and procedures, and reporting any safety observations to the Offshore Supervisor if required.

Training/Certification required:

  • Full Offshore Certification and Medical will be required but will be funded by Rotech.
  • Should be familiar with ISO 9001
